🔸Janaka and Ashtavakra a journey beyond by Ashraf Karayath is an amazingly insightful book based on Ashtavakra Gita. It was about two characters from the ancient epic Ramayana, Sage Ashtavakra, an enlightened guru and his disciple King Janaka of Mithila (Father of Sita).

🔸It starts with King Janaka questioning himself - Who Am I? A king or a Beggar? And he is in search of a suitable groom for his elder daughter Sita. On the other hand, Sage Ashtavakra, a seventeen-year-old who desperately wants to know about his father, that lands him in the court challenging everyone in the kingdom. After knowing and recognising his extraordinary intelligence and maturity king Janaka becomes his disciple. Then with his guidance, the king attains enlightenment.

👉My two cents:-

🔸The language is simple and the narration just is perfect and the characters are very well developed I couldn't believe this is the debut book of the author. He has done a great job. It was a little slower for the first 45-50 pages but picks up the pace after that which turns out to be a page-turner.

🔹I am a big fan of the ancient epic Mahabharata but this is the first time I started reading a book related to Ramayana and I am impressed and want to grab more and more books related to this. So why are you waiting? go grab your copy of this masterpiece.
